This university was set up in 1986 by the state Govt of Karnataka to provide the best learning in the stream of law. This was the first law institute in India. The federal government of India governs this university, and the national government runs all the university’s financial and social affairs. Later on, another department was added to the main faculty of the university, termed DDE NLSIU.
This university is offering BA-LLB and LLB courses and some other courses under regular mode, Students who have completed graduation with 50% Marks from a recognized university can apply for admission to this course. Students who want to enroll in this law course must have passed the NLSAT-LLB entrance exam. The average fee of this course ranges from INR 3 lakhs to 4 lakhs per year.

NLSIU Distance Education UG Admission
The university is offering 5 year BA LLB and 3-year LLB course in a regular mode of education. Admission to these courses will be based on the entrance exam score. Students who want to enrol in this law course must have passed the NLSAT-LLB entrance exam.
