Uttarakhand Open University is soon planning to establish a new campus for Dehradun students. CMO has given the order to the above department regarding setting up a new campus in Dehradun.
The reasons behind opening the new campus, As more than 50% of UOU students are from Dehradun. And there are only a few rooms in other state institutes which runs the administrative works said by the officials of the university. It becomes a hard task for the department to handle such a big strength.

In the present situation, The UOU has only one campus, which is located in Haldwani City, Uttarakhand. After the completion of the Dehradun Campus, the students of the university who visit here for reasons of assignments, fee submissions, and for other reasons will get relief from long lines and students who are living in the surrounding of Dehradun will get the relief from travelling.
The Uttarakhand Open University is very popular and reputed for its distance courses all over the region, and students come here to study from all over the state. The Chief Officials are showing great interest in the new Dehradun campus, as it gives deep roots to the university in spreading education.
Dehradun Campus project is becoming a new favorite topic for Uttarakhand CM Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said, “Before the next assembly election, he will be eager in land allotment for the new campus.
