UGC states that Periyar University is not valid for distance education. By observing that the university has no proper teaching faculties, no full-time director, and no management of the centers for the ODL mode learning.The mismanagement is creating a cause in students education learning.
The same thing can affect students and it is also harming UGC reputation, so UGC has claimed that periyar university is restricted to take admission for the ODL mode learning. The complaint was raised to the UGC office related to the periyar university and through this the decision was initiated that if the university is proper in their education system than the authority given to the universities should be cancelled and made students aware that they should not take admission at periyar university for ODL mode.
It is noticed that in recent 2 years the clashes with south universities have increased by UGC, Annamalai University recently has written a petition that UGC notices are creating a negative impact on the annamalai students as the enrollments are been affected badly and in reply UGC has claimed that Annamalai University is invalid and no student should take admission in this university for the distance mode learning.
